As therapists (at least those in the U.S.) we have all dealt with healthcare recruiters. You have probably all received countless emails, calls, snail mail and occasionally even a text from recruiters that have “the best positions” anywhere and everywhere across the globe like I have and still do. So in 2009 I started a staffing company, Physio 4 Hire, that specializes in the permanent placement of therapists in Chicago, IL.
I began this company after I attempted to go through a…

Ok...so I have had terrible luck renewing TN-VISAS at the border and I don't want anybody else suffering the way I did (driving to the border from chicago to Port Huron 2x in two days...total of 15 hours because the border police needed my diploma eventhough I had a PT transcript officially sealed in an envelope and presented it to them.)
You don't necessarily need an attorney (Mind you this is not official information. This is from my experience) to renew your TN-VISA.
Here's…

My first reaction was utter disbelief, followed by anger, then rage. I have been a Physical Therapist and Clinical Instructor for quite some time now. I had completed my CPI training provided by the APTA years ago and have never ever had to encounter such problems.
The current insurance provider that we deal with, decided that they would deny our reimbursement because I had my student PTA co-sign the notes. Their reasoning, "We are not sure if the patient was treated by the Physical…

0 Comments 0 LikesPhysio Connection was created as a professional network designed exclusively for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and allied health professionals in order to improve the spread of information and help connect those professionals with each other. The site was launched in January 2012 and is still in the beta (testing) version. In this phase, we hope to gain feedback from some of our early adopters on the need for a site like this and what functions it should serve. It currently has pages for discussions, forums, events, jobs, CEU courses, as well as a place to post pictures and videos. We are hoping to create a community of health professionals who hope to share new treatment techniques, discuss current topics in the allied health field, and improve the spread of information.
I really hope that members of Physio Connection will join this site with the hopes and goals of improving their knowledge, discover new treatment techniques and share information to become a better clinician or business owner. As we all know, all therapists are different, every patient unique, each treatment personalized. This creates an unquantifiable variety in treatments for the huge number of diagnoses that we treat. What evidenced-based medicine and Physio Connection hope to do is to keep the therapist from treating the same patient the same way and getting the same unfavorable result. If I’m not mistaken, I think that is the definition of insanity. Instead, we want to foster the need to,and improve the efficiency of, discovering new information to improve patient outcomes. This may be through something as simple as a chat with a therapist from another state or across the globe or reading a post that references a new research article that was just published.
Are we ready to join another “network”? I am not sure yet. That’s why I hope to get some early feedback and make any changes necessary to either grow this site into a productive and useful site, or head back to the drawing board. So if you are a PT or in the health field, check out the site. Let me know your thoughts. Feel free to email me on the site at anytime!
